Obituary for Nancy McManus

Nancy M. McManus 67 of Prince's Bay, passed away at home on February 1, 2018 after a long and heroic battle with cancer.

Born in Cleveland Ohio on February 28, 1950, Nancy was the loving daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Salvatore R. and Beatrice LaTona of Niagara Falls, New York and the college sweetheart and beloved wife of John A. McManus for over 44 years. She was the devoted mother to Molly Webster (John), Kathleen Nasiri (Ali) and Kevin McManus. She is also survived by her dear sister Ellen LaVia and brothers Joseph LaTona and Salvatore P. LaTona and Numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Niagara University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and worked in many hospitals, both in New York and Omaha, Nebraska where she lived with her husband supporting them while he was in law school. She worked at the former Doctors Hospital, of Staten Island and Community Resources for the Developmentally Disabled while living on Staten Island. Nancy was an active member and former officer of the Stolzenthaler Chapter of the Columbiettes.

Nancy was a devoted friend to many, charitable to the care who was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
