Obituary for George H. Arabella

George Henry Arabella, born November 11, 1950 in Canarsie Brooklyn.  He attended PS 114 elementary school,  211 middle school and graduated from Canarsie high school, class of 1968.

He grew up playing baseball, street stick ball and handball.  However,  baseball was his favorite sport and he was a great ball player as well.  He was an avid New York Yankees fan, with Micky Mantel being his all time favorite baseball player.

1972 he meet the love of his life Janet (Cuciti) Arabella (May 12, 1952- June 22, 2007).  May 5, 1974 they were married.

1977 he was sworn into the New York City Fire Department.   He served 22 years with Engine CO. 241 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.   He loved being a firefighter - the passion ran through his veins.

July 13, 1976 they had their first child, George Henry Arabella, Jr.  December 5, 1977 they had their second child, Joseph Salvatore Arabella.  July 14,  1979 their third child was born, Janine Marie Arabella.  July 21, 1982 they had their youngest child, Jaime Lynn Arabella.

Our father loved life and enjoyed being surrounded by his family.  Florida was our family destination vacation.   We would go almost every year, and driving was his preferred mode of transportation, which gave the family bonding time along the way.

Our father and mother were both ecstatic when they learned that they were going to be grandparents.   He lived for his grandchildren and would have done anything for them.  His grandchildren are the ones that got him through his darkest days when he lost the love of his life, our mother, unexpectedly.  They were together 35 beautiful years.

Our father was as strong as they come.  When he fell ill, it was very difficult for the family to see.  He put up a mighty fight but, unfortunately, the pain was just too much.  On June 20, 2019, the good Lord called him home to reunite with the love of his life.

He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren.   He will always live on through us.  We made wonderful memories throughout the years, which will be locked in our hearts forever.

We miss you dearly Dad and will always love you.  Give Mommy a big hug and kiss for us!

Love always,

Your children:

Georgie, Jr., Joey, Janine & Jaime

Your grandchildren:

Daniella,  Adriana,  Giuliana,  Roberto (Little Man), Georgie III, Mario & Valentina

Your in laws:

Roberto, Theresa & Nancy

Your brothers:

Robert, Henry & Michael
