Condolences

Condolence From: Juliet Ronan
Condolence: I knew Mary since I was a teenager and so sorry to hear of her passing. I pray she is in heaven
Along with her husband and son Steven. Steven was my best friend and I miss him so much. Mary always treated me like a daughter and I remember spending Christmas Eve with her and Steven. These are some of the greatest memories I hold close to me. Her son Gene was always by her side throughout her life up until the time she died. He was her angel and shining light. She couldnt ask for a better son. May God bless her and her Family until we meet again.

Condolence From: Dear Old Friend
Condolence: I just learned of Mary's passing today and was deeply saddened. She was a warm, kind and engaging person with a great laugh that everyone loved ! We go back years and she was truly the best person one could ever hope to know in life ! While I had not see her in a long time,I remember her loving to play cards;a good card game with friends and her late sister Anne (Bubby) made her extremely happy. She also enjoyed going regularly to Atlantic City by bus and by car with her dear friend and neighbor,Roseanne, and her mother Lucy.Sadly, both are now also dearly departed. They had comp and would get a room in the Caesar's Hotel overnight from time to time to gamble in the casino and enjoy the endless buffet. I can also say from the mid 1980's through the 1990's she was a babysitter and every family she ever baby sat for praised her with accolades as a true blessing;highly responsible, warm, and caring. She loved babies and took such great pride and care of those she was responsible for.Her son, Gene also always kept a close eye over his mom and loved her...this everyone knew ! As time passes and those of her generation are fast fading away into a memory;let's cherish their younger and healthier days and all the wonderful things we remember about them in life.Rest in peace now,Mary...they simply don't make them like you anymore !

Condolence From: Lee Leone
Condolence: Mary was a fine person and unfortunately,I met her late in life when she was ill. I am totally confident that had I met her in her younger years,I would have loved her ! She also had a wonderful son,Gene. I never saw such a devoted and caring son for his beloved mom,and he was at the nursing home daily making sure his mom was properly cared for and not alone, especially at night.May she now rest in peace...with the Lord.

Condolence From: Gene R. Sarnelli
Condolence: Mary Sarnelli passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of September 22nd 2019 at the Golden Gate Nursing Home,Staten Island. She was 89. Born Mary Benvenuto in Brooklyn,N.Y. She settled in Huguenot,Staten Island, with her family in 1969.
She worked for Wilson's Sporting Goods in Manhattan before getting married. However, she will be best remembered as a quintessential wife, mother, and home-maker.She was quite simply the best mother in the world said her son,Gene.
I will forever remember my mom as being the center of the home and family. She was an excellent cook and everyone always wanted to come to our home on holidays or for Sunday dinner. She was also a talented decorator and always kept a well appointed and beautiful home. She also possessed excellent organizational skills and held the home together like only a mother could. She was the life of the party and will always be remembered as having a kind, big and generous heart.
My mom was my best friend,my hero, and my rock my entire life. She lived her entire life devoted to the well-being of her two sons.Needless to say, life will never be the same for me without her.I shall carry her cherished memory in my heart for the rest of my life and will miss her presence deeply.
She was predeceased by her husband Carlo in 1985,her dear sister Antoinette in 2005,her beloved brother Salvatore in 2006, and her adoring son Steven in 2009.She is survived by her son,Gene.May she now rest in peace,...free of the worry, pain and stress the end of life can often bring to those we love the most in this life.

Condolence From: Golden Gate Rehab
Condolence: Mary was a resident for over two years with us and she was a warm and friendly patient that never gave the staff any trouble.Sadly, her dementia worsened over time and she became increasingly less responsive. She was so very fortunate to have her son,Gene. He came every single day of the week for over two years and was dedicated to his mom,and took extra good and loving care of his mother.Often staying until 10pm or later each evening to make she was secure and sleeping before leaving.Everyone should have such a wonderful son in life.Rest in peace now,Mary...you are in Heaven now.
