Edith Pavlovsky, 101 Loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on February 22, 2020.
Edith was born on August 16, 1918 in Pennsylvania to the late Thomas and Barbara Gaffey. “A daughter of a coal miner”. She settled in Brooklyn, New York and married the late Steven Pavlovsky in 1941. Later living with her son and daughter in law in Staten Island, New York for over 20 years.
Edith was the loving wife of the late Steven Pavlovsky and is survived by her sister Margaret Hixon. She was the mother of Barbara Mannino and late son in law Joseph Mannino, son Gerard Pavlovsky and daughter in law Rosemarie. She was the adoring grandmother of Theresa, Joseph, Stephanie, her husband Ryan, Michael and his wife Amanda. She was the beloved great-grandmother of Anthony, Julia, the late Josette, Isabella, Bria, Thomas, and Aubrey. She was also a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Edith enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling from New York to Pennsylvania to visit family and to Florida to visit her daughter, son in law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
According to her daughter Barbara and son Jerry, “Mom was one of the nicest people and never had a bad word to say about anyone”. She will forever be honored, missed, and remembered by her family.
There will be a viewing on February 27, 2020, 8:00am at Scarpaci Funeral Home - 6389 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York. Followed by a mass at 9:30am at Saint Joseph Saint Thomas Church- 6097 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York. Interment is at the Calverton Cemetery in Riverhead, New York.
