A Message from Cam

My dear Aunt Rose,

A bright light has been extinguished with your passing.

Frank, Paul, and I have sent red roses, which when given in sympathy symbolize respect, love and courage. You personified all those qualities.

I’ll hold you in my heart for the remainder of my life – not only my aunt, but my second mother, my dear friend and confidant. I’ll miss our long telephone conversations.

You, my mother, and grandma were the greatest of role models. You gave of yourselves selflessly, loved deeply, and taught by example.

The best of my childhood memories are of being together at your house in Brooklyn. The rich aroma of coffee percolating . . . a knock on the door bringing an unexpected visit from beloved relatives just in time for dessert . . . listening to family talking and laughing over coffee, while the formation of my personal moral compass was being shaped. I couldn’t have had better role models.

Although a bright light has been extinguished, simultaneously another was illuminated in heaven as you passed. I know you were welcomed by our loved ones, who have been waiting to embrace you once again.
