Obituary for Ceejay Capistrano

Ceejay Capistrano, beloved daughter and sister, passed away late in the evening on June 22, 2022, just three weeks after celebrating her 38th birthday. She was born in Staten Island, New York on June 1, 1984 to Cecillo R. Capistrano and Cecilia I. Capistrano (Isla). Ceejay graduated from Tottenville High School and attended the College of Staten Island and Kingsborough College. She was born with congenital heart issues and suffered a major stroke at the age of seven. In spite of the challenges she endured, Ceejay overcame heart-wrenching setbacks with a spirit of great courage and positivity. Her indomitable will to persevere and live a happy, fruitful life was evident. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends and family, especially her cherished nieces and nephews, Chloe, Spencer, Skyler, Travis, Owen, Ava, Lilah, Scott, Kaylee, Jaxson, Mason, and Miles – they were her pride and joy. She loved them with all her being and seized every opportunity to tell them how much they meant to her. She also took great pride in her job as a caretaker. However in the recent year, her deteriorating health placed severe limitations on her mobility. Despite these limitations, she remained a devoted friend and a pillar of strength to all those who loved her. Ceejay’s unwavering love and faith in God stayed with her to the very end. She is survived by her parents, her three sisters, Yasmeen, Irene, and Melanee, and their husbands, Sean, Ted, and Brian. She will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends and will continue to be a shining example of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for them.
