Obituary for
Robert Victor Crema
Robert V. Crema
On Tuesday, October 11th 2022 Robert ‘Bob’ Crema, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 74. Bob was born on February 4th 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to Alphonse and Josephine (Monteforte) Crema. On March 29th 1980, he married the love of his life, Elaina Maria Messina. They lived together many years in Staten Island, NY, Basking Ridge, NJ, and currently resided in Naples, Florida. Bob and Elaina raised 3 daughters together, Deanna, Justine and Cherilyn to which he was an absolutely wonderful father.
Bob was a self-made success, not only in his business dealings but in every facet of his life. He had a long prosperous career on wall street in which he owned his own business. He mastered anything to which he applied himself. One of his greatest qualities was that there was no pretense about him – you never new you were in the presence of such a wildly successful guy. His humility was truly awe inspiring. He brilliantly conflated the heart of a lion with the gentle touch of a lamb as he confronted both opportunities and challenges.
He was the patriarch of his family. Bob loved his whole family fiercely and had a great loyalty to them – always there to pick them up and impart wisdom. He lived life on his own terms, unapologetically himself, living life fully and passionately. His laugh is a sound that will be sorely missed.
He was a man of many passions and so enjoyed sharing them with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He could often be found golfing, fishing, hunting, shooting, watching a Yankees game, enjoying a good meal, listening to his 50s and Italian music, smoking a cigar and living ‘la dolce vita’. Bob believed in Jesus Christ as his personal savior and his family takes great comfort in knowing he is at home in heaven. He will forever be admired and sorely missed.
Bob was preceded in life by his Father, Alphonse, and his mother, Josephine. He is survived by his wife Elaina, His four children Deanna Foutoulis, Justine Kenworthy, Cherilyn Crema and Cindy Goin. His 5 grandchildren Christian, Andrew, Alexa, Victor and Sebastian. His sisters Nancy Domino, Valerie Ferris and Joanie Alfors.
