Josephine Di Dio
Josephine Di Dio, the Matriarch of the Di Dio family has passed away at the age of 101 on January 8, 2023 after living a full and blessed life.
She is survived by her five children Maria, Salvatore (Karen), Louisa (Ron), Paula ( Mike) , whom she lived with , Linda (Louie) and their families. Josephine had 19 grandchildren and 23 great-children and one on the way and an endless amount of nieces and nephews.
She was married to her sweetheart Paul for 69 years until he passed away at the age of 91 in 2016.
Her life was all about family. There was never a day when she was alone or lonely. Josie was taken care of by her children and grandchildren. She did not want or need for anything.
Sunday dinners will always be her greatest legacy. Family members all gathered together for dinner, coffee, and conversation around a huge Italian meal every week. There was room for everyone - you were always welcomed - no invitation needed.
Everything was celebrated in a big way. Josie never missed a beat when it came to birthdays, weddings, holidays and special occasions. She was so happy to gather with her family.
Josie traveled often with her family members taking cruises, visiting Disney World and her favorite place of all Aruba making her last visit at 100 years old. Lately she would pass her time watching her favorites on TV- the game show network, old movies on Turner Classics, cowboy movies and her beloved Mets!! Often she would pass her time playing with her great-grandchildren or watching cartoons with them.
Great grandma's cabinet was filled with goodies and chocolate kisses for all those visits by her great-
children. She was delighted by their smiles as she handed out her goodies.
Josie will live in all the hearts she has touched. When we remember her we will remember what was most important to her - family and traditions. As she would say "That's All That Counts " !!
