Obituary for James J. Collins

His name is James John Collins. But everyone knows him as "Gramps". A loving caring friend, brother, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. Gramps was born in Lower Manhattan. He was one of ten children (5 sisters and 4 brothers). He was a World War II veteran, who served 3 invasions under Patton. James met his future wife MaryJane" while in the military. He then married and had a son "James Eugene" Collins. He was loved by all and adored his grandchildren very much and loved his great-grandchildren dearly. He loved his red wine and Friday night pizza. He led a simple life and never complained about anything,

He had a Guardian Angel who followed him through the war and only told very few stories of how he always made the right decisions whether it was a voice or a nudge to avoid a casualty. Gramps loved life, family and religion.

You would never know if he was ill or something was bothering him. He would eat whatever his son gave
him, and "Jim" (as he would call him) would say "Da" its Chicken!! Gramps would laugh and say "It's Good"!

All in all Gramps will be missed dearly but never forgotten! We should all taken a page out of Gramp's life:
Live, Love, Laugh and be humble. God Bless you Gramps, you are finally Home !!
