The dentist

My mother picked up the phone. "Michael, calm down! What are you saying? Are you sure are you sure??" She hung up and I asked what happened. She said that it was Uncle Michael and that he was extremely upset. "His dentist sent him a love letter. He can't believe it. He doesn't want to go back but he has to to finish some work." I could barely get the words out I was laughing so hard.

"It was me."

WHAT??

I was at the dentist too. He left some stationery on his desk so I took some and wrote my uncle a love letter...from the dentist.

I think he was (secretly) relieved when he heard it was me but for weeks going forward every time I picked up the phone my hello was answered with "you're dead. you're DEAD!"
