Obituary for Michael Miccio

Dad loved his 50’s and 60’s music, he loved making barrels and barrels of homemade wine and 20 quarts marinara sauce at a time to freeze. He loved his pets and his friends and his family with all his heart. He was charismatic and generous and caring and kind. He was smart and tough and had a great sense of humor. In his day he was a gymnast, a body builder, and a great athlete. He was everything I could want in a dad and more. He was loyal. He honest and true. He was forgiving and never held a grudge. He was proud of me and I was his world. He loved me with all his heart, always. Suzy, was his universe. She cared for him, grounded him and at times put up with him. He would always say how gorgeous she was but then he would add how she was even more beautiful inside than outside. His heart was never the same since he lost her four years ago. I am happy that they will be able to meet again. I am happy he is at peace and no longer suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and COPD. It seems unfair because he was never a smoker but he never complained. He dealt so quietly with his illness for almost two years that many didn’t realize how sick he really was. He had many friends and they loved him. He loved them to and often told animated stories of the good old days in the 1950s and 60s. He spoke several times a day with Jimmy “Mann”. They would laugh and joke and talk about the past- the good old days, and their  interest in the Lionel  Trains that  they both collected through the years. He is forever grateful to Jamsey Mazzara, RIP, for being a loyal true friend who pursued him to invest in Realestate and Jamsey’s brother Philly, founded the spot for 370 Avenue P, Country Girl Daries and the 9 family building on the corner of Dahill Rd. For almost forty years that investment put food on our table. Dad always said, “if it wasn’t for Jamsey I would have never been able to afford such a beautiful home for my family.” He loved not only his sisters, Mary Ann and Arlene but he also loved his wifes’ sisters Joanne and Linda as if they were his own. He had many fond memories with his brothers, Al,(RIP) Tony, Pauli and Frannny(RIP) He was extremely close to his brother in law Robert as some call “Bolly.” His nephew Robert was the son he never had and his niece Suzanne he practically raised as a daughter. John the “Leprachon” his nephew he saw almost daily through the years loved to crash over for a card game and dinner. The “Leprachon’s” brother Michael loved  my dad as father. His niece Sabrina was always showing her love to dad by helping him with projects and doing favors for him. He loved all his nieces and nephews dearly. His God Daughter Christina and Janessa were definitely favorites! He loved all his nieces and nephews dearly. Dana Kerice, Janessa, Roberta and Dana, Chrissy, Gino and Sabrina, John, Michael, Anthony Robert and John, Lindsay and add Tony’s kids (I have to get there names to add them in) Each and every holiday he called the entire family which is quite enormous and would leave detailed messages if he got a voicemail. Then he would call all his friends before he could start to enjoy his own holiday. When I was 24 years I was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Although he was not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses he supported me 110%. He occasionally attended meetings and always spoke highly of my religion to his friends and family. He said if I ever had to pick one religion to join that would be Jehovahs Witnesses. He noticed the many positive changes in my life by becoming a witnessing and was impressed by the many wonderful friends I have made from the congregations. He welcomed my Witness friends in his home and treated like them kings. He allowed me to have parties in his house. I’ve had many small dinner parties and quite a number of large gatherings in house. Some with 70 people or more in which we had a professional DJ, dancing and Bartender. He always made everyone feel welcome and comfortable in his presence. May Jehovah God, the Almighty, bless him for his kindness and generosity. May he be in God’s memory until time indefinite. Death is a comma, not a period. Until we meet again...daddy I love you!
