Thomas J. Power
Thomas Joseph Power was born on May 3, 1938 to Joseph and Mary Power in Listowl Ireland. Joe came to America at the age of 17, looking for streets lined with gold. He lived in upstate New York with his Aunt Molly and Uncle Jack Griffin where he met the love of his life Clare Garnick. Joe and Clare married on September 17, 1961 and lived in Flatbush,Brooklyn.They moved to Canarsie Brooklyn where they had two children the late John Joseph and Lisa Ann. Joe owned his own butcher shop on West 6th Street in Brooklyn and later became a Supervisor at Keyfood Warehouse where he finished off his career. Joe was a man of few words, but many stories, his looks told it all.
He was kind, funny, loving and wise. Some of his favorite sayings will be with us forever, “Lord if you ain’t busy pass by”.
Thomas Joseph Power is survived by his wife of 60 years Clare, Daughter Lisa, daughter-in-laws Renee and Josephine Stabile grandchildren Ashley, Katlyn, John, Jo-Anna and Dakota, Sisters Madeline Mulvihill (Deny Mulvihill) Marie Duggan (Jack Duggan), sister in laws Florence Kneff and Joyce and John Candler, Nieces and Nephews Stacy and Frank Monaco, Denise and Mike McKenna, Dana Mulvihill , David and Orla Mulvihill, Ed and Laurence Mulvihill, John and Kathy Mulvihill, Brian and Helen Mulvihill. David and Sheila Duggan, Jackie and Mike Runyan.
